SERVICE

These terms cover the service itself. They are not a consent document — there is no box to tick, and nothing is stored against your account. What data Trlly collects is covered by the contribution terms and the privacy policy, which take precedence over this document wherever data is concerned.

This document covers your relationship with the Trlly service. It is not a consent document and you are not asked to tick a box for it — it simply applies when you use Trlly.

Two other documents cover data, and they take precedence over this one wherever data is concerned:

The short version

Trlly is a free Chrome extension and website that shows you price history for groceries at supported retailers. Trlly is independent of Ocado and Tesco.

The prices we show are what a computer program read off a web page at some point in the past. They are often right and sometimes wrong. Check the price at checkout before you buy something on the strength of a number we showed you.

Don't feed us made-up data, don't hammer the servers, and don't take our code and run your own copy. Beyond that, use it however you like.

Nothing here takes away rights you have as a consumer under UK law. It cannot, and we are not trying to.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

Trlly is the browser extension, the website at trlly.co.uk, and the servers behind them. "We" and "us" mean whoever operates Trlly; "you" means whoever is using it.

These terms apply from the moment you install the extension or use the site. They cover the service. They do not cover what data we collect or why — the contribution terms and privacy policy do that, and where those documents say something different about data, they win.

2. Trlly is independent of the retailers

Trlly is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or operated by Ocado or Tesco. Neither retailer has approved Trlly.

"Ocado", "Smart Pass", "Tesco" and "Clubcard" belong to their respective owners. We use those names to describe what the extension does.

We do not sell groceries, take orders, take payment for orders, deliver anything, or have any part in your contract with a retailer. If your shopping is late, wrong or missing, that is between you and them — we cannot help and we have no information about your order beyond the receipt lines your own browser sent us, if you turned that on.

Your retailer's terms continue to apply to your use of its website. Trlly's contribution terms do not authorise automated retailer crawling.

3. Prices are observations, not promises

This is the most important thing in this document, so it gets its own section.

Every price Trlly shows started life as a parser reading a web page in somebody's browser at a particular moment. That means:

• it may be old — the price may have changed since
• it may be wrong — pages change layout and parsers misread them
• it may be missing context — multibuys, weighed items and Smart Pass pricing do not always reduce to one number
• it may not apply to you — offers can be regional, personalised or expired

We show a confidence score and how fresh an observation is precisely because we do not want you to treat these numbers as facts. Trlly is not a substitute for the price at checkout. If a purchase depends on a price being what we said it was, check it on the retailer's website first.

The contribution terms explain the limits of recorded prices. Observations recorded before 11 August 2026 are marked legacy-0.0.0 and are less reliable again, particularly for stock, Smart Pass pricing and category.

We also do not guarantee that any product exists, is in stock, is suitable for you, or is described accurately. Allergen and ingredient information in particular should be read on the product itself, never on ours.

4. Your account

You can read price history without an account. If you want watches, alerts, basket savings or your own purchase history, you need one.

When you have an account:

• give us a real email address you can receive mail at, because that is how we reach you
• keep your login to yourself — anything done through your account is treated as done by you
• one account per person, and you must be at least 16 to have one
• tell us at support@trlly.co.uk if you think someone else is using it

You can delete your account at any time from the extension. It deletes your profile, watches, alerts, baskets, orders and consent records, and cuts the link between you and every price observation you sent. The privacy policy sets out exactly what goes and what stays.

5. Fair use

Trlly works because a lot of ordinary browsing adds up to a useful picture. That breaks if people game it, so:

• Don't fabricate data. No invented observations, baskets or receipts.
• Don't submit faster than ordinary browsing would. Automated crawling, scripted page loads and bulk submission are not ordinary browsing. Ingestion is rate limited and audited per account — this is enforced, not just asked for. (Contribution terms, section 11.)
• Don't use another person's Ocado account or data to generate contributions.
• Don't attack the service — no attempts to break authentication, reach another member's rows, overload the servers, or probe for holes. If you think you have found a security problem, email support@trlly.co.uk and tell us rather than exploiting it. We will not come after anyone who reports a genuine issue in good faith and gives us a reasonable chance to fix it.
• Don't scrape Trlly to rebuild our price history somewhere else, and don't resell our data.
• Don't use Trlly for anything illegal, and don't use it to harass anyone.

If you break these rules we may rate limit you, reject your contributions, suspend your account, or close it. Section 9 says how we go about that.

6. What Trlly costs

Trlly is free today. The core — price history, charts, trend badges and price tracking — is free and is intended to stay that way.

Billing is switched off. There is Stripe code in the product and there are subscription fields in the database, but the payments feature flag is off, no payment has ever been taken, and no card details have ever reached us. Anything you may see about plans or subscriptions is dormant plumbing, not an offer.

If we ever introduce a paid plan, then and only then:

• we will say what it costs and what it includes before you pay anything
• you will have to actively choose it — nothing you already use will start charging you
• payment would be handled by Stripe, who would hold the card details, not us
• you would get the cancellation and refund rights UK consumer law gives you for a digital subscription, including the 14-day right to change your mind unless you asked us to start straight away and acknowledged losing it

Until that happens, treat every sentence in this section about paid plans as describing something that does not exist yet.

7. Your data

One sentence, then a signpost, because two documents saying the same thing in slightly different words is how contradictions get made.

What we collect and why is set out in the privacy policy (https://trlly.co.uk/legal/privacy-policy/v1.2.0); what your browser contributes and on what legal basis is set out in the contribution terms (https://trlly.co.uk/legal/contribution-terms/v1.2.0). Where either of those documents differs from this one about data, that document applies.

8. Our software, and what you contribute

The extension, the website, our code, our design, the Trlly name and logo, and the price history database as a compiled whole are ours (or our licensors'). You get permission to install the extension and use the service for your own personal, non-commercial shopping. That permission is all you get.

You may not copy, modify, decompile, resell, sublicense or run your own service from our code or our data, and you may not remove our branding from it. None of this restricts anything you are allowed to do by law regardless — for example the limited rights UK copyright law gives you to decompile software for interoperability.

The observations, baskets and order lines your browser sends stay yours as far as any rights in them go. By contributing them you give us permission to store them and use them as the contribution terms describe — no more than that, and the limits in that document (particularly on order history) are binding on us.

Feedback and bug reports you send us we can use freely, without owing you anything for it. Please do not send us anything confidential in a bug report.

9. Stopping, suspending and closing accounts

You can stop at any time. Uninstall the extension, switch contribution off, or delete your account. You do not need a reason and you do not need to tell us.

We can suspend or close an account if you break section 5, if we are required to by law, or if keeping it open risks harming other members or the service. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right. Where we cannot — a live attack, a legal requirement, a real risk to other people — we will act first and tell you afterwards.

If you think we got it wrong, email support@trlly.co.uk and a human will look at it.

We may also change or withdraw features, including free ones, and we may stop offering Trlly altogether. If we shut the service down we will give reasonable notice on the site and in the extension so you can export or delete anything you care about first.

10. What we do and don't promise about the service

We will provide Trlly with reasonable care and skill — that is a duty UK consumer law puts on us and we are not trying to shrug it off.

But: Trlly is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always be available, that it will be free of bugs, that it will work with every browser or every version of a retailer's website, or that the data in it is complete or accurate. It is a tool for spotting patterns, not a source of truth about prices.

We are not responsible for a retailer's website, its content or its behaviour, nor for third-party services we rely on being available.

11. Who is responsible if something goes wrong

Some things can never be excluded, and we do not try to. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under UK law — including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Beyond that:

• We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. Loss is foreseeable if it is obvious it will happen, or if we both knew it might when you started using Trlly.
• We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable — including money you spent because a price we showed turned out to be stale or wrong. Section 3 explains why: check the price at checkout.
• We do not supply Trlly for business use. If you use it for a business, we have no liability to you for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity.
• Where the law allows a cap, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of £100 or the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the problem arose. Since billing is off, that is £100 today.

12. Your rights as a consumer

If you are a consumer in the UK you have statutory rights about digital content and services that these terms cannot take away. If anything here appears to limit those rights, it does not — the statutory right applies and that sentence does not.

Citizens Advice (citizensadvice.org.uk) explains those rights plainly if you want to check ours against them. Complaints about how we handle personal data go to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), as the privacy policy says.

13. Changes to these terms

We can change these terms — to reflect changes in the product, in the law, or in how the service works. When we do, we publish a new version with a new version number and change the date at the top.

Small changes take effect when published. If a change materially reduces your rights or increases your obligations, we will give reasonable notice in the extension or by email before it takes effect, and you can stop using Trlly and delete your account if you don't like it.

We do not change these terms retrospectively. Unlike the contribution terms and the privacy policy, this document is not something you accept — so there is no consent record for it, and no version of it is stored against your account.

14. Other things that have to be in here

• These terms are between you and us. Nobody else can enforce them.
• If one part is unenforceable, the rest still stands. A court striking out a sentence does not take the rest of the document with it.
• Not enforcing something isn't giving it up. If we don't act straight away when you break a rule, we can still act later.
• You can't transfer your account to someone else. We may transfer these terms to another organisation if Trlly changes hands, and if we do we will tell you and it will not reduce your rights.

15. Law and courts

These terms and any dispute about them are governed by the law of England and Wales.

If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can bring proceedings in your own country's courts, and you keep the benefit of any consumer protections in force where you live. Otherwise the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
